Notes From This Study:

Isaiah 46:10 (KJV)

10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

1 Corinthians 10:11 (NRSV)

11 These things happened to them to serve as an example, and they were written down to instruct us, on whom the ends of the ages have come.

From Facebook user Holly Cross:
This may help us as we share with Christians WHY we are Keeping The Feasts of YHWH:
In the End, there is no such thing as “Jew” or “Gentile”… There is only “In Covenant” or “Out of Covenant” with YHWH.
To learn how to “Get in Covenant,” begin by learning:
      • who you are (Genesis)
      • where you should be going (Exodus)
      • to be Set Apart and Holy (Leviticus)
      • to Trust YHWH as He guides you (Numbers)
      • to OBEY HIS INSTRUCTIONS so you may Live (Deuteronomy)

This will not be too hard for you, because Messiah laid down His Life to make it possible for you to “Get in Covenant” with His Father! He even sent His Set Apart Spirit to give you strength to finish the Race! If you think of yourself as a “Gentile Christian” you may be suffering from Spiritual Identity Theft. The only Cure is to start at the very BEGINNING.

Lots of good interaction in this show! I was not able to hear from everyone, but one wrote to me on Facebook. So, I thought I’d share it here:

Matthew E. Parrott posted to Rob Skiba

@Rob, I called in to Virtual House Church but didn’t get in, wanted to make just a couple points

1. This Torah portion is so good, it’s almost like the summery of scripture or what you would find on the dust jacket of a book.

2. I think you made the comment of why can’t people get it. I wanted to say that I think their is a veil that they have, just like many Jews have a veil from allowing them to see the Messiah. I personally didn’t become Torah pursuant until one day I was asking the Father why things in our lives didn’t seem to be the way they should be and I prayer, ‘Father if their are any areas in my life or in my theology where I have a veil, similar to the Jews having a veil that prevents them from seeing the Messiah, please remove it.’ A couple days/weeks later we were on our way. I think if we see Christians through this light it will help us not be judgmental with them.

3. When scripture says that the Torah is not to hard, many times I think we wrongly assume we can’t keep it, I don’t think this is entirely true. For instance, David, Abraham, and Jacob all had issues but where considered righteous men, along with others, yet they failed in areas. So, how can this be? In order to follow Torah we have to repent or turn when we fail, by doing this, we keep Torah. So I believe Torah allows for us to keep it even through failure, as long as we repent and turn towards Him.

4. One of your callers mentioned Romans 14 about one day being more esteemed than another. The book of Romans never even mentions the Sabbath, let alone chapter 14. However, if we start in verse one, or even go back a little further, we will find out that they are talking about eating. Then if we do some historical research we will find out that there was a large debate about what days are best to fast, get married, etc. So Paul is saying, look, if someone is saying you should fast on Tuesday and Thursday and is condemning you about it, don’t worry about it, each day is the same – in that regard. However, you will notice that there is not context that could lead us to think they are talking about Shabbat.

5. You mentioned the verse where the Messiah says that the Torah will not pass away until Heaven and Earth pass away. I was doing some research on that topic this week and found something I thought was kinda cool. We see in Deut. 30:19, ‘Heaven and earth to record this day against you…’ and then the verse you quoted, Matthew 5:18, ‘not one jot or title will pass from the law until Heaven and Earth pass away…’ we know that, but check out Matthew 24:35 ‘Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away…’ There are 3 witnesses confirming Heaven and Earth as witnesses against us concerning the Torah. It’s almost as if it where past, present, and future. The Messiah not only says it won’t be done away with until X, but then He says, X will happen in the future. We all know the verses but it was kind of cool to see them in a new light.

Anyway not sure if I will be around next day week so I thought I would share them now Good program.

Oh 2 more, that way we have 7, my complete response, lol I was doing a study this week on what sign’s that will define those who belong to YHWH. Obviously Shabbat is a sign, but one of your callers was mentioning walking in the Spirit. I wanted to note that besides the Sabbath and Circumcision, there is another sign of those who belong to YHWH. Check out these 2 verse:

Mark 16:17-18 ‘And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

and

John 14:12 ‘Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.’

I know that there is controversy around Mark 16, BUT there are more signs to us ‘Crossed over ones’ than just Shabbat! I think it’s very important to walk in Spirit and Truth.

Many who claim the Father looks at the heart don’t understand what scripture means when it says that. You are correct, the heart is wicked and deceitful, etc. However, the context about YHWH looking at the heart is simple. When YHWH looks at his servants, He doesn’t choose them as men would choose them. Another words He doesn’t pick the top guy from the top family, from the top country, etc. He doesn’t pick people based on their looks, smarts, grades, or popularity, he chooses people based on, can we say character? devotion? love for YHWH’s law? When He looks at heart, He is looking at their motives, their values, etc. He want’s people who have a pure heart, who have devotion for Him, etc. The context clearly doesn’t say He tries to figure out if you are being bad for the right reasons or something – which almost every time I hear people use that verse it’s always used as an excuse. If we have to use scripture as an excuse then I would be questioning your heart, and I am not even YHWH…

Amen Matthew! Thanks for writing.

The Tribulation Protection Plan:

Exodus 34:21-24 (NLT)

21 “You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but on the seventh day you must stop working, even during the seasons of plowing and harvest.

22 “You must celebrate the Festival of Harvest with the first crop of the wheat harvest, and celebrate the Festival of the Final Harvest at the end of the harvest season. 23 Three times each year every man in Israel must appear before the Sovereign, the Lord, the God of Israel. 24 I will drive out the other nations ahead of you and expand your territory, so no one will covet and conquer your land while you appear before the Lord your God three times each year.

Leviticus 26:3-13 (NRSV)

3 If you follow my statutes and keep my commandments and observe them faithfully, 4 I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.5 Your threshing shall overtake the vintage, and the vintage shall overtake the sowing; you shall eat your bread to the full, and live securely in your land. 6 And I will grant peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and no one shall make you afraid; I will remove dangerous animals from the land, and no sword shall go through your land. 7 You shall give chase to your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword. 8 Five of you shall give chase to a hundred, and a hundred of you shall give chase to ten thousand; your enemies shall fall before you by the sword. 9 I will look with favor upon you and make you fruitful and multiply you; and I will maintain my covenant with you. 10 You shall eat old grain long stored, and you shall have to clear out the old to make way for the new. 11 I will place my dwelling in your midst, and I shall not abhor you. 12 And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and you shall be my people. 13 I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be their slaves no more; I have broken the bars of your yoke and made you walk erect.
